A shared room above a miniature bookshop

YOUR CORNER OF LANTERN LANE

One little space.
What will you put in it?

The bookshop has one empty corner upstairs. Choose an object, invent a new use and leave a small invitation. Everything is imaginary — no props needed.

  1. One person shares this page and clicks for the group.
  2. Talk on your usual call or in the same room. Anyone can pass, point or observe.
  3. Make three choices together. There are no right or wrong answers.

The activity needs JavaScript. If it does not load, use the written version below.

Your choices stay in this page only. Reloading starts fresh. We do not record your conversation.

How to run this free icebreaker

Allow about five to ten minutes. This is a planning estimate, not a measured average. One person reads the instructions and clicks; everyone can add an idea or pass. Rotate the reader if another person would like a turn. Keep the conversation about the fictional bookshop.

Each round offers three options and a starting example. Talk first, choose an option, then continue when the group is ready. You can revisit a previous round. If no one wants to improvise, use the ready-made version and enjoy seeing the corner take shape.

Prefer to run it from written instructions?
  1. Choose an object: a wooden arrow, an empty frame or blank tickets. Give it a use other than its usual job. An arrow could point to a tiny detail worth noticing.
  2. Adapt it for a visitor: someone making a short visit, someone who would rather observe quietly, or two visitors interested in different details. A second person may add one detail. Passing is welcome.
  3. Leave an invitation: say one sentence that makes the first action clear and welcomes observation. For example: “Turn the arrow towards a detail you like, or simply look.”

Finish with: “Which detail from another suggestion would you keep?” There is nothing to submit or score.

All free activities are available internationally. Paid checkout currently supports organisations billed in France. Ask about availability in another country.
