THE ORGANISER’S GUIDE

A little preparation.
Room for everyone.

Choose a purpose, invite a small team and leave enough time for the conversation afterwards.

Before you send the invite

Pick the conversation you want to make possible. Choose a game whose format suits the team. Read its introductory screen and try a round yourself so you know what you’ll be asking people to do. A complete run spoils the mystery, but not the discussion activities.

Invite without pressure

Explain the purpose, duration and format. Let people know they can pass or observe in conversation rounds. Avoid asking for personal disclosures or judging individual behaviour. Use a team nickname, not confidential project details.

For one small team

Use 3–6 people, or 2–6 for The Midnight Signal. The host opens the game on a laptop or desktop and shares the browser window. Others use your usual voice call. A local save belongs to that one browser; it does not sync to participants’ devices.

For a larger event

Split into teams of 3–6 in breakout rooms. Each team needs a designated host, a separate browser session and the game link. Brief all hosts before splitting up, then reunite everyone for a shared closing conversation. There is no built-in room management or inter-team leaderboard.

During the activity

Read each round’s instructions before clicking. Rotate the reader, speaker, challenger or summariser as the game suggests. Ask for another viewpoint before choosing an option. Keep the tone curious: differences in interpretation are material for the activity, not evidence of someone’s ability.

If a discussion stalls

Let each person offer one idea in turn, or invite a volunteer to summarise the alternatives. Anyone may pass. In the investigation, use progressive hints. There is no need to turn a team activity into a test of who is fastest.

Close with something small

Use the debrief at the end. Agree one useful observation or one habit to try in a real meeting. Discussion answers remain spoken; only the game’s predefined choices and session progress are stored locally. The downloaded summary can support your own notes.

Your team licence

Each licence includes one live session per purchased game for one team, plus private host preparation. For parallel teams, buy one licence per group. See the terms for full details.
